Happy Birthday to my big brother Troy!!!! Troy is such a great person and I'm excited for the opportunity to tell you all why he is so great. :)
Troy with his cute family(minus Gray because he wasn't born yet :/)
- Troy is one of the funniest people that I know. Anytime that him and Brooke are around I find myself laughing often. I love that Troy creates a relaxed and humorous atmosphere. I absolutely love anytime that they come to visit, there is always a whole new sense of fun when they are around.
- Another thing that I've noticed and love about Troy is that he is a really good dad. I love to see how much Jackson loves his dad. Both Jackson's and Clara's faces light up when Troy is around. I'm sure Gray will get that way too once he gets a little older ;). I find it incredible that Troy has so much on his plate with his career and everything but still is able to make time to spend with his kids. It's inspiring to me that Troy truly has his priorities straight and his actions show this immensely.
- Troy is a very hard worker. When Troy was back in medical school, my mom would tell me about the times that Troy had spent hours upon hours studying at school. This unbelievable dedication added to his already existent intelligence made it possible for him to earn very good grades. This baffles my mind because I can never focus on my studies for more than a few hours at a time. So while I'm attending school and struggling to put the time in I think of Troy and that helps me to try to be a better student. So thanks for the example Troy!
- Troy is also very loving. I always feel welcome and accepted when I am with him. He is a super great big brother, I'm excited for him and his family to live close again next year so that I am able to see and talk to him more often.
- I also admire the testimony that Troy shares just by his example. The spirit that he carries with him is an indicator that he truly does all he can to stay close to the Lord in order to have the spirit as a constant companion. A time that demonstrates how Troy remains close to the spirit is back in January when I received a phone call from him. I don't think I ever told Troy about his experience but now he will know. :) It was the late morning and out of the blue I got a phone call from Troy just to see how I was doing and to chat for a little bit. Unfortunately this doesn't get to happen all that often because of our busy schedules and distance. He was in an airport just waiting for his flight time and thought he'd give me a call. It was so good to talk to him and catch up for little bit. What I didn't tell Troy that day was that I had had a miscarriage that same day and was just waiting for the doctor's appointment to confirm it. Troy called at exactly the perfect moment and he was able to put a smile on my face (he's good at making me laugh). I don't know if he knew why he was calling or not but I do know that he comforted me at that precise moment and I will always be deeply grateful for that experience. Thank you Troy for living your life in a way that allows you to be an instrument in God's hands. I'm so glad that you are my big brother! :)
I hope that you have the best of birthdays today! Hopefully next year we'll be able to celebrate with you. Brad and I both love you very much! I'm so proud to call you my brother. Thanks for the amazing example you are to me! I hope you've had a great day celebrating:) Love you!
