Happy Birthday Daddy-o!
I feel bad that this post is a day late but at least I'm getting it on here. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to get it done yesterday. Yesterday was my dad's birthday, yay! So today's post will be all about why we love my dad so much. :)
Throughout my entire life I have always felt very grateful for all the knowledge that my dad possesses and shares with me. Any gospel or life questions I am pondering or unsure about I always go to my dad because I know that he has also thought about it and can give me valuable advice. I cherish those talks we have and I enjoy the opportunity to build our relationship.
My dad and I have a very similar sense of humor. I learned how to tease and use sarcasm from my dad. We have a lot of fun cracking jokes together.
My dad is such a hard worker and he has been for as long as I can remember. I admire his work ethic and I am so grateful that he taught me how to work hard. I have found many blessings in my life from working hard. My dad has worked many long days in order to provide for his large family and I've never felt like I've had to go without because of his sacrifice. Thanks so much Dad!
He has supported and encouraged me in many aspects of my life. He is very good at motivating me to stay close to the Savior and to live a better life. When I was younger and still heavily involved in the world of atheltics he pushed me each day to become a better athlete. I didn't always understand where he was coming from, or enjoy the lectures but I know now that it all came from his love for me. I remember back when I was trying to get ready for basketball tryouts. Dad had the good idea of waking me up early to go down to the church and shoot a certain amount of shots before he had to leave for work. I really appreciated him sacrificing his sleep to get up extra early before work and helping me to improve. This
support and encouragement has gone beyond just athletics. This same kind of caring attitude has been given to me by my dad in all aspects of life.
Dad, I hope you had a fantastic birthday! I am so grateful for all that you have done and continue to do for Brad and I. I feel very blessed to be your daughter and I thank Heavenly Father everyday that I was lucky enough to be raised by wonderful parents. I appreciate all of the sacrifices you have made for the family, and I also appreciate your example of how to live close to the Savior. Thanks for loving Brad and I so much and for always treating us like we are important to you. I love you very much! Happy Birthday Pops:)
